Key Program Statements
- Making our communities better places in which to live is something Auxiliary members strive for each day across this country.
- A major outreach program of the Auxiliary since 1926, Community Service also demonstrates our longstanding commitment to supporting the work of American Legion posts and other organizations in providing assistance with blood drives, first aid and CPR training, child safety programs, support for women in shelters, and disaster and emergency preparedness programs.

2024 Year-End Report Community Service
Following are some ideas for community service within your area.
- Sponsor a community blood drive (much needed at this time of low supplies).
- Send holiday greeting cards to deployed troops.
- Donated canned goods, produce, and funds to local food banks.
- Make pillowcases and donate personal care products to local shelters.
- Provide yarn to a volunteer to make helmet caps and send to deployed troops.
- Volunteer at local hospitals, day cares, and ambulance services.
- Deliver Meals on Wheels.
- Assist with clean up of trash around your local community.
- Serve meals at a funeral.
- Serve as poll workers during national and local elections.
- Make bags of Christmas goodies and deliver them to veterans.
- Organize a Blue Star Salute event
