Paul Farup Auxiliary Unit 147 of Park River met on January 7 to enjoy a holiday celebration. Members ate a potluck meal and donated comfort items, including a variety of stuffed animals and fleece blankets, to be distributed to the Walsh County Sheriff’s Department. The items will then be donated to children experiencing trauma. Stuffed animals and related comfort items can help calm children during emergencies and can bring a sense of normalcy in times of trauma. This was a successful community service project on behalf of the organization.
