Last year, Girls State board members assisted many girls in finding sponsorships for ALA Girls State. If you know of a girl that would like to attend, please let us know. Also, if you have extra funds and are willing to help a girl experience this wonderful program, drop us a line or give us a call.
We are now accepting applications for “City Moms.” If you are an American Legion Auxiliary member that would like to help out and spread the good word of our organization, then this may be the job for you!
Do you have a girl who is on the fence about going and needs someone to “seal the deal?” Or perhaps you are concerned they aren’t serious about attending. Let us know!

Hello everyone,
The 2025 ALA Flickertail Girls State event was a success! On Saturday, June 7, staff arrived and after getting settled in, the counselors hit the ground running with training and prepping for the week. On Sunday, forty-four students arrived ready to get the week started and worked on community service projects. They assembled poppies and filled and sewed neck pillows for VA patients while getting acquainted with everyone.
The theme for 2025 was “Our Veterans, Our Heroes, Our Freedom.” We were honored to have National Auxiliary President Trish Ward and Northwestern Division National Vice President Deb Albers join us this year.
The Girls Staters enjoyed many activities while attending the annual week-long event. This included electing Minou Babingui as Girls State Governor and Alexia Schaible as Lt. Governor and finally graduating on Friday, June 13.
The Flickertail Girls State Staff thanks all of you for supporting this wonderful program and we look forward to another successful event next year.
