The book may be purchased through the ND ALA Department office for $25; or $32.50 if you want the book mailed to you. Checks can be made payable to “American Legion Auxiliary Dept of ND” with Nurses Book in the memo line, and sent to: American Legion Auxiliary, Dept of ND; 1801 23rd Avenue N, Rm 113, Fargo, ND 58102. If you’re in Fargo, and want to pick up the book, the office is located at the Old Hector Airport Terminal.
All proceeds are going towards a scholarship fund being set up with the Past Presidents Parley as the Dr. Grace E.F. Holmes Nursing Scholarship.
Dr. Holmes will be at the Department Convention to speak and to autograph books.
Did you know that you can now call national headquarters to pay your dues? The number to call is 317- 569-4500. They will help you especially if you have multiple members that you are paying for. I did this, and it was quick and easy to pay for my additional members.
Anyone can access www.alaforveterans.org. At the top of the site is a “join” tab. Fill out the application and pay. Every department (state) has their dues listed there. New members would become a part of ND Unit 500, and then can be transferred to their desired unit. This is a great help because, if you are talking to someone and you would like them to join, you can have them sign up right at that time. I put the website as an app on my phone and hope to use this feature many times.
